What to Expect from the September 2026 Direct
While Nintendo has kept details under wraps, industry leakers suggest a packed lineup of first‑party and third‑party announcements. Here’s what fans are hoping to see:
First‑Party Highlights
- New Super Smash Bros. title – a fresh fighting game to expand the franchise.
- Brand‑new Star Fox entry – the next adventure for the iconic space‑faring fox.
- 3D Mario game – a yet‑to‑be‑named 3D platformer slated to close the show.
Pokémon Update
Given Pokémon’s status as Nintendo’s biggest franchise, a quick look at the upcoming Pokémon Winds and Waves is likely. Fans may get a glimpse of the new region, fresh Pocket Monsters, and early gameplay footage.
Third‑Party and Switch Exclusives
Leakers also predict a “bumper reveal” of additional Switch exclusives, possibly from long‑time partners. These could help offset the recent $50 price increase on the upcoming Switch 2 hardware.
